CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Binance Changpeng Zhao disproved talks that hackers got access to confidential information of platform`s users – bitcoindoubler2x.com learned.
August 7 in his post on Twitter Zhao commented gossips concerning suspected leak of KYC-data of exchange`s clients. He described this as an attempt to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt.
“Do not succumb to panic and fear. We study this problem and soon will say all known information”, – he wrote.
Binance clients started panic when on a Telegram-channel, called “FIND YOUR KYC”, began appearing photos of passports and ID cards, supposedly belonging to Binance users. At the current moment the number of channel`s members has exceeded 9 700 people and it continues growing.
Although the exchange didn`t give official announcement yet, Binance PR Manager Leah Li said:
“There are inconsistencies when comparing this data with the data in our system. Today no evidence was provided that any image was received from Binance, because they don`t contain digital watermark, stamped by our system”.
Note, that for recent years Binance has already met the problem of its platform security. This year from hot wallet of Binance, 7 000 BTC were stolen.
