Colombian Congress has presented the cryptocurrency transactions regulation bill, that will also help protect users of digital currencies from increasing number of frauds in this sphere.
In January 2017 representatives of the financial regulator of the country Superintendencia de Sociedades claimed, that Colombia would never accept digital currencies. And now it seems that regulator`s policy has changed and cryptocurrencies will be regulated, but not forbidden, as bitcoindoubler2x.com has got to know.
As Congress representative Mauricio Toro has told, this means not only cryptocurrencies, but also any assets, which are traded on digital platforms. Besides, if the bill is accepted, they will create a new scheme, permitting legally trade digital assets and also protect traders from crypto fraudulence.
“The idea is to permit cryptocurrency exchange among Colombians, but at the same time it must be regulated by the government”, – Toro stressed.
If a law is adopted, Colombia’s Industry and Commerce Administration (SIC) will oversee cryptocurrency exchange platforms. Companies, making cryptocurrency transactions, will provide the regulator with the access to them, in order to exclude illegal activity.
