US National Basketball Association (NBA) and its affiliated union National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) began to cooperate with creators of CryptoKitties with an aim to launch new game – investment platform has learned.
According to the official announcement on the website of NBPA, the game under the name NBA Top Shot is going to see the world at the beginning of 2020. In the game users will be able to get collectible digital items, and fans also will be able to save direct video broadcast NBA games, which then will be stored and sold as collectible items.
CEO of Dapper Labs company Roham Gharegozlou, who created CryptoKitties, expressed his opinion about this game:
“NBA and its players are the most influential people in global culture. Due to NBA Top Shot fans will be able to interact in a new way with their favourite players, teams and each other. We use blockchain to create unique resources and opportunities”.
Blockchain and cryptocurrencies increasingly penetrate into sport industry. Last month “Miami Dolphins” football team claimed that it would accept payments in LTC. In June Portuguese football club “Benfica” began selling its souvenir products for cryptocurrencies. In the end of April football club “West Ham United” launched a fan-token, and “Real Madrid” began to use blockchain Fantastec for content posting.
