Visual Objects company has analysed the poll`s results and has discovered that holders of crypto assets much more often use them to buy food and clothes, rather than illegal commodities.
The research demonstrates that in reality crypto assets are used both for purchases of common things, and for illegal activity. Wherein, in the society exists an opinion that cryptocurrencies mostly serve as a payment means to buy drugs and other prohibited goods. 983 respondents have participated in the research, what is more, 120 participants actively use crypto assets for online purchases.
40% of polled people think that cryptocurrencies are mostly used for speculations. Another 30% of respondents consider that cryptos are applied to purchase “illegal things”. Another 23% called digital currencies the means of e-commerce. Cryptocurrencies use 15% and 14% to buy clothes and food, respectively.
Among polled people just 16% have really invested in cryptocurrencies, that is why the results of the poll are opinion of commoners. According to Visual Objects data, real cryptocurrency holders spend them far from what the general public believes. They buy food (38%), clothes (34%), and 50% invest in other assets (29% in stocks and 21% in gold). To purchase drugs and weapons cryptocurrencies involve 11% and 15% respectively.
